McCarren Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is home to the McCarren Pool where every Sunday people gather for the McCarren Pool Parties. The park also hosts a myriad of activities played on open grass and softball fields. such as kickball, volleyball, softball…and occasionally, running under a huge flag!!
We’re not sure how frequently, but you may see a HUGE flag of the United States waving 7 feet in the air with a diverse group of people (who happen to be in the right place at the right time) running, sitting, biking underneath! This unique experience brings everyone together in the task of getting the flag off the ground and keeping it in the air. We witnessed this on July 22, 2007. How about you?
